Resolved 93272 Holter

Hello, for professional services for cpt 93272 where the patient can wear a continuous monitor for up to 30 days, do we use the initial DOS the holter is ordered and placed, or do we use the DOS the Provider interprets and signs the test. For example the DOS starts and Monitor starts 2/1/2024- and patient wears the monitor 14 days, the interpreting provider reads and signs it 2/21,24 days after take off or even the day of take off. The providers are billing the DOS for the day the monitor starts, however I thought they are supposed to use the DOS it is interpreted and signed?

I found this for 93272:
93272 - External patient and, when performed, auto activated electrocardiographic rhythm derived event recording with symptom-related memory loop with remote download capability up to 30 days, 24-hour attended monitoring; review and interpretation by a physician or other qualified health care professional

Report 93268 for transmission and professional review and interpretation. Report 93270 for recording only, including connection and disconnection.

Report 93271 for receipt of transmissions and analysis only.

Report 93272 for physician or other qualified health care professional review and interpretation only. These codes are reported only once per 30-day time period.

So they do have to wait until the day of review and the providers signs/interprets for the DOS? Rather then the day it is put on/hooked up
