CCO Admin asked:
I had a question for AAPC and the following is their answer. "When it comes to listing diagnosis codes in a particular order for the CRC you do not follow the First Code or Additional code instruction notes in the Tabular List. The codes can be sequenced in any order for CRC. " I thought that even with risk adjustment that you follow the same rules.
Answer:
I am not certain nor have I heard anything about this regarding their exam. In the real world of coding; you would still follow the coding guidelines and sequencing of diagnoses. I would focus on the topics covered on the exam. Also; do you know who you spoke to at AAPC regarding this information?
