Resolved Midsternal chest pain

Status

R07.89

A discomfort (eg, stabbing or dull) that presents in the chest and may or may not be associated with another condition, illness, injury, or infection. When the documentation identifies a specific type of chest pain for which another ICD-10-CM diagnosis code description does not exist, it should be reported as "other chest pain." However, if the documentation fails to identify a specific type, it should be reported as "unspecified chest pain." If the documentation identifies a confirmed diagnosis that explains the presence of chest pain, it should be reported instead of the symptoms.
