Since this test gives results for Covid and flu A and flu B is it considered 3 tests ordered or just 1? Since the flu test 87084 can be billed as 2 line items with 1 59 modifier and the covid test 87426 is billed those 3 test would count as 3.

I believe this to be 3 tests.

87428 - Infectious agent antigen detection by immunoassay technique (eg, enzyme immunoassay [EIA], enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay [ELISA], fluorescence immunoassay [FIA], immunochemiluminometric assay [IMCA]), qualitative or semiquantitative; severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (eg, SARS-CoV, SARS-CoV-2 [COVID-19]) and influenza virus types A and B

Influenza A or B viruses cause the flu with pneumonia and other severe respiratory disease manifestations that mimic COVID-19. Testing provides results that identify COVID-19 or influenza from the same patient sample to help manage proper treatment or isolation measures
