Code 99080 is used in conjunction with other code(s) to report health care provider time when extensive paperwork or documentation preparation is required in order to convey a more complete clinical picture of patient circumstances, diagnosis, or treatment. This can include detailing complex patient diagnosis and treatment regimens, disability insurance claims, or documentation to an employer outlining the necessity for family medical leave of absence requests.
