Patient comes in (observation setting) with chest pain and anemia. Patient receives blood transfusions. Patient has CKD. My question is: do you code D64.9 (anemia is not specified) AND the D63.1 (anemia in CKD) or should I just code the D64.9 since the anemia is unspecified.
Any help would be appreciated. I always get confused in this scenario.

Documentation by physician needs to identify correlation of CKD and Anemia for D63.1 otherwise query physician
